Hey everyone — I know it’s been a minute since I’ve shown up in here… okay, more like 5 months 😅

Between building and opening the new Las Vegas studio, running the business, and everything behind the scenes, a few things definitely fell off my radar — including being present here with all of you. But I’m really glad to be back.

This week I’ve been diving into website reviews for four photographers I’m onboarding into my mentoring program, and it sparked something I felt compelled to share:

As you may know, if you’ve been following my Instagram page in particular, in February we acquired a commercial space that I planned to turn into my boudoir photography studio. Needless to say I’ve been plucking away at it and am fittingly frustrated that it isn’t done yet and ready for business.

But, before I complain about all of that I must absolutely be grateful for the the fact that it isn’t finished in the at most three months I thought it should take because I keep getting called away on business stuff and that is something to be grateful for.

I have been witnessing a disturbing trend over the course of the last few years, predominantly in the various photography related groups on a popular social media platform. This trend is people who purchase their first camera and they want tips on starting a photography business.

The absolute worse offenders are the ones who purchase a camera on Friday and think they’re ready to shoot their friend’s wedding the following Saturday. WTAF to that for sure!

Establishing Yourself as the Local Boudoir Expert

As many of you may be aware, I moved from Orange County California to Las Vegas NV during the pandemic, back in October of 2020. Prior to that, I had been on hiatus from 2015. What was to be a five-year break has turned into a nearly decade long break.

A break that had forced me to begin the rebuilding of my seven-figure business in a new city in a new state without the benefit of my previous client base.
