Taking flattering photos requires much more than simply owning an expensive camera or being able to use photoshop – you need skill, training, and experience too!
Even if you use the best equipment available, if you don’t know how light works then you won’t be able to take beautiful images. Understanding things like face shape, body shape, angles, posing techniques, and your subject feeling comfortable are key elements too.

Unfortunately most inexperienced photographers lack such knowledge which leads them taking bad photos that make their clients feel worse about themselves than when they started out!
It breaks my heart when I hear someone say they hate how they look in photos… ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE REFERRING TO THEIR WEDDING PHOTOS THEY PAID A “PROFESSIONAL” TO TAKE!
After all of the planning and effort that goes into creating the perfect wedding, being unsatisfied with the results can be distressing and heartbreaking.
Not only is your wedding day supposed to be one of the most important days of your life, but it’s also a time when you will have some of the best and most beautiful photographs taken of you. The thought that those photos don’t meet or exceed expectations is incredibly disheartening.

When looking to hire a photographer, it is essential to ask plenty of questions in advance and request samples of their previous work before agreeing to anything. It is not enough just to view the photos posted on their website or social media profile; be sure to ask for an extended gallery that shows all delivered photos to the actual client.

It’s very common that the photographer you are considering hiring may only be displaying the best of the best from each session online, which isn’t necessarily representative of what they will deliver in the final gallery.
Don’t be afraid to ask to see a few of the full, final galleries. Any photographer worth their salt should be happy and willing to provide you with those links for viewing.
Here’s an undeniable fact everyone: For too long, women have struggled with self-doubt, body image issues, and negative thoughts about their appearance; and having a bad photo taken of them can make those feelings even worse.

For this reason, I recommend that instead of settling for the cheapest option, you should opt for the best photographer your budget allows. Save up if you need to!
This is the best way to ensure that the pictures captured of you will be flattering. Quality photography can be expensive but the cost is worth it in the end. You will LITERALLY have those photos FOR-EV-ER! You deserve to love them and feel amazing about yourself when you look at them.
