Time flies and things change. The Internet was a baby 25 years ago and the multitude of photo-related forums didn’t exist. So photographers joined camera clubs (the original photo “meet-up” groups) and discussed common interests.
As I recollect those days, it strikes me how much the conversations have changed. While I am sure SOMEONE was mentioning these things SOMEWHERE – I never heard it. But it is interesting to consider
(I am generally not going for the low-hanging fruit of anything specifically related to digital photography which would make this list much longer!)Here are 10 things photographers never said (to me anyway) 25 years ago:
1. I think I got a “bad copy” of that camera/lens.
2. Does that lens have a creamy bokeh?
3. I hear that new _______ camera has a back-focusing problem.
4. Is that body/lens weather sealed?
5. Does that lens have IS?
6. Is there too much noise in that photo?
7. How well does that camera work when there’s no/low light?
8. How many shutter actuations does that camera have?
9. Does that body have IBIS?
10. That camera looks so retro.
So there you have it. 10 things that are pretty much exclusive to digital photographers these days.
